The Dear Alpaca Farm Journal

We now have 29 Alpacas at our farm in Potsdam NY. We had 7 cria this summer that range from a light fawn color, med brown to a True Black. We are now weaning some of the male cria from the mom’s. Of course we still have our two Great Pyr. Dogs that keep guard 24/7. We had a deer jump in the fenced in area last week. What a confusing time for Alpacas, deer and dogs.
Hi everyone we would like you to come by and see the Alpacas. We also have an Alpaca Products Store on the farm. Christmas is over, and the ice store has passed. We hope everyone made it home safe.
We sell products from 2 national co-ops and we also have about 6 stores we work with in order to have fine Alpaca Products for you to buy. We also give free Alpaca Tours.

Have not written in a while. But here goes

We are James and Sharon Dear. We live in Upstate Northern New York. Our farm is on the corner of Parmenter Road and the Sweeny Road, just 1 1/2 miles from Hannawa Falls. We are actually located in Potsdam NY, in St. Lawrence County.

We brought 7 alpacas home to the farm on Sept 11 2004 and now 5 years later we have 29 alpacas and two guard dogs.

We have an Alpaca products Store on the farm. We sell Alpaca Socks, Alpaca Sweaters, Alpaca Hats, and many other Alpaca items.

Have you every thought of buying Alpacas? We would be glad to help you out. From an Alpaca package including a bred female with cria at her side, or a couple of males that you would like sheared for the fiber each year.

We also give Alpaca Tours for one family or a group. We have given tours to school children, Red Hat Ladies,
home schoolers, girl scouts, and many others give us a call.
